Windows 10 mobile: connectivity and promises

I bought my Lumia 930 last summer in good faith that Microsoft would bring forth its new OS for mobile devices and keep its promises regarding new features and openness. I must say: I am more than a little dissappointed


Windows Insider is fun and nice, but I can't understand why Microsoft can't tell us which features they are working on and which will never find their way into Windows 10 mobile. Even just a roadmap would be fine. But it is practically impossible to get information regarding promised features.


This is specially true for windows devices' connectivity!

There were some very promising smartwatch designs stating they will work with windows phone/mobile. So far, all of them retracted their statement and support only Android and iOS. All of them answer the same: Microsoft didn't deliver vital and promised APIs and they halted or cancelled development for WP/WM. The only Smartwatch working with WP/WM is the Pebbel and it doesn't do a very good job whatsoever.


Microsoft is VERY quiet about all this and if you do lots and lots of research you can find very vague answers as to why this is the case: Apparently Microsoft does not implement a GATT server with its Bluetooth 4.0 drivers. WHY?? They use the GATT client, and Android and iOS have no problems whatsoever implementing this part of the Bluetooth stack.


If they did, not only all the fitness bands would be able to recieve missed calles and notifications: Practically all Android Wear Apps (which you need to use a smartwatch in the first place) would become available, too. Why is Microsoft not pushing this? Because they want to sell their Band 2? It doesn't even have the same target group like other smartwatches and they don't sell it in most parts of Europe anyway.


Can someone tell me why it is seemingly impossible for Microsoft to keep up with the rest of the world?


The same goes for their NFC support. It was promised we could use NFC to change settings and even for payment. I'm still waiting.


What about apps?? Microsoft promised android apps to be portable to WM. Nope. maybe some "easier" porting for developers. Wow. This concept already exists. It's called xamarin.


So far there is a "gadgets" app that is no use whatsoever because most gadgets for smartphones don't come with dedicated apps or simply are not supported.


When will microsoft deliver on the high promises they made? Or at least openly tell us if there is any hope, that features will be realised in the near future (something like "this spring" or "this year" or "definetly next year or" "hahahahaha. no." would be very helpful). I hate being kept in the dark.

Can anyone provide any useful information or contact adress that I can write to and ask?
