Lifecam VX-6000 no longer recognized by Skype after Creators Update

So that creators update stuffed up my LifeCam.

Not only did it disable the camera, but it uninstalled the software -- without my permission, or knowledge.

The only reason I found out, was because I was scheduled to Skype with someone today. (Thanks MS, that really helped me with the job interview.)

It worked perfectly fine with the Anniversary update.

Now?
While I can start LifeCam up and use the software, Skype says there are "No Devices". Even after the roll back, it still can't find the camera.

MS Support suggested to install the Windows 7 drivers. Yeah... Only the Creators update won't let me. "Incompatible"


So basically, if this is any indication, with future updates I can throw a perfectly good webcam out.

Sure, I can get a new one, a fancier one. It won't even cost a lot. But the fact is, that I *have* a webcam that may be on the low end side of things now, but up until yesterday, it was working perfectly fine and didn't need replacing.

If it broke, fine.

But it didn't. It's software / OS, nothing else.


Any suggestions?
(And sorry, it's easier for me in English than in German, although I live in Germany.)
